Calendar of the soul 42, January 19-25

The outer world still is dark, although the days lengthen steadily. Nature is quiet, it is her more mineral side that can be perceived. But in the inner life of the human being its own force can be felt strongly and this gives the desire to reveal it and to externalize it, to bring it outward. The warmth of the heart is a kind of sense-organ with which the coming revelation of the sense-world can be anticipated.

In winter-darkness
The strong desire of the soul
Is the revelation of its own force,
To guide it into darknesses
And anticipate foreseeing,
Through warmth of the heart, sense-revelation.
 
Es ist in diesem Winterdunkel
Die Offenbarung eigner Kraft
Der Seele starker Trieb,
In Finsternisse sie zu lenken
Und ahnend vorzufühlen
Durch Herzenswärme Sinnesoffenbarung.
